AOC Support for Contract and Court-Appointed Attorneys
The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) administers the Court Appointed Attorney Fee Fund (CAAFF), which funds attorneys for indigent clients in certain types of civil proceedings, including Children's Code proceedings. Some CAAFF funding is used to pay non-contract attorneys appointed by the district courts on a case-by-case basis, as well as lay and expert witness fees.
The AOC website provides important information for guardians ad litem, youth attorneys, and respondent attorneys, including:
- Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for yearly contracts
- Model contracts
- On-Line Attorney Logs
- Payment of Fees, Costs and Expenses
- Payment Guidelines and Forms
- Supreme Court Attorney Performance Standards and
- Other Resources
If you have questions about the CAAFF or your contract, please contact Hilari Lipton at the Administrative Office of the Courts, 505-827-4887 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
